DigiTay: Curriculum Development Fund

Different providers developed different courses….

DigiTay’s Curriculum Development Funding supported colleges and universities across the Tay Cities Region to work in partnership with employers and training providers to design or enhance digital skills provision. With grants of up to £150,000 available, the fund focused on developing new or improved curriculum in key priority areas including cyber security, data science, software development and artificial intelligence. Projects were collaborative, evidence-based, and aligned to regional skills needs, ensuring learners were equipped with qualifications and practical skills that lead to positive outcomes in employment or further study.

The funding was designed to address critical skills gaps while widening access to opportunities for underrepresented groups, including women, disabled learners, and those from rural or disadvantaged communities. Successful projects demonstrated innovation in delivery, such as flexible or blended learning approaches, and provided clear progression pathways for learners. All activity added value beyond existing provision, with a strong focus on employability, industry engagement, and long-term sustainability beyond the funding period.
