Working with Babcock: How procurement works and how to become a supplier

September 30 @ 1:00 pm - 1:45 pm
Babcock explain how its procurement function is structured, what it does and doesn't purchase, and exactly what it expects from suppliers.

Ever wondered what actually happens on the buyer’s side of a procurement process?

This is a rare opportunity to hear directly from international defence company Babcock about how it buys, what it looks for and what it genuinely takes to become one of its suppliers.

In this straight-talking 45-minute session, Babcock will explain how its procurement function is structured, what it does and doesn’t purchase, and exactly it expects from suppliers at every stage of the process.

If you’re serious about pursuing opportunities with large corporates, this session will save you time, sharpen your approach and help you decide whether Babcock is the right fit for you.

Topics covered in this session

  • How Babcock is structured – and why it matters for you: Get a clear picture of how Babcock operates across its divisions, regions, sectors and service lines, and understand which parts of the business are most relevant to what you offer
  • What Babcock buys and what it doesn’t: Understand Babcock’s key spending categories, where SME suppliers fit into its supply chain and where it’s worth focusing your energy
  • What Babcock expects from potential suppliers: Hear directly from the procurement team about the standards, certifications, capabilities and behaviours they look for before a supplier even gets to tender stage
  • How the tender process actually works at Babcock: The procurement journey from end to end – from how opportunities are released to how bids are evaluated – so you know what to prepare and what to expect at each step
  • How to position your business for opportunities with Babcock: Leave with a clear sense of whether your business is ready, what gaps you might need to close and the practical steps to take to get on Babcock’s radar as a credible, capable supplier.
