Scotland’s Unfair Advantage in Sports & Wellbeing Technology
Sport is becoming an increasingly important testbed for new technologies, with data and AI playing a growing role in everything from athlete performance and injury prevention to fan engagement, broadcasting and major sporting events.
At the same time, investment in sports technology is growing rapidly, driven by the global reach of sport, the growth of digital content and women’s sport, and increasing demand for technologies that can improve performance, experiences and wellbeing.
So where does Scotland fit into this opportunity?
Scotland has spent decades building its expertise and infrastructure in data and technology, alongside world-class universities, sporting facilities, performance programmes and a strong focus on responsible innovation.
This event will bring together people from across sport, technology, data and innovation to explore how those strengths could give Scotland an unfair advantage in the growing sports and wellbeing technology sector.
Through a panel discussion and open conversation, we’ll explore how data and AI are already changing sport, where the biggest opportunities are emerging, and whether Scotland has the ingredients to become a leading testbed for sports and wellbeing technology.
Panelists:
- Nicky Reid – CEO, Scottish Professional Football League Trust
- Fiona McIntyre – CEO, Scottish Women’s Premier League
- Alasdair Crawley – Founder, Fanbase
- Mike Ross – Chair of Lost Shore and the Raeburn Institute
- Prof. Ross Tuffee (Host) – Co-founder of Motionlanbs and Honorary Professor at the University of Stirling
Whether you work in sport, data or technology, or are simply interested in how these worlds are coming together, join us for an afternoon of discussion, ideas and connections.
There will also be an opportunity to continue the conversation and network with other attendees following the panel.
