Cloud Foundations Module

Companies around the world are investing in cloud infrastructure. This has resulted in a skills shortage in cloud-based skills, with over 70% of IT decision-makers saying that their teams lack the needed cloud computing skills.

The University of Dundee has joined the Amazon Web Services (AWS) Academy program to offer this Cloud Foundations course. With AWS Academy, students are equipped with the practical skills they need to add value in their first cloud role.

You will learn about AWS Cloud through real-world scenarios and gain the skills needed to architect real-world solutions. Real Practice. Real Experience. Real Life. You will get hands-on, practical experience through:

group discussions

Successful completion of this course will enable you to understand cloud systems, cloud global infrastructure components, and security compliance measures of a cloud system. Upon completion, you will receive academic credit and an AWS Academy Graduate – AWS Academy Cloud Foundations badge.

This course also assists in preparing you to take the AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner exam. This industry-recognised credential helps organisations identify talent with knowledge related to implementing cloud initiatives.

Courseware is authorised and maintained by AWS and taught by an educator who has earned AWS Academy Accreditation.

Cloud Foundations is intended for people who seek an overall understanding of cloud computing concepts, independent of specific technical roles. The University of Dundee has joined the Amazon Web Services (AWS) Academy program to offer this Cloud Foundations course. With AWS Academy, students are equipped with the practical skills they need to add value in their first cloud role.

Full funding is available for this course if you are 24 or older and live in the Tayside Cities Region (Dundee, Angus, North East Fife, Perth and Kinross) and meet one or more of the eligibility criteria: Women returning to work or advancing in work; Black, Asian or Minority Ethnic (BAME) individuals, refugees, unemployed or living with a disability.
